"There is a fetish for everything." That is something I've been hearing, and saying, a lot lately. It's true though. If you don't believe me go to your favorite search engine and put the word "fetish" at the end of any random word. Even if there isn't a sexual fetish, someone out there has used the term fetish to describe his or her intense desire or affection for said object or act. New fetishes are being invented and realized all the time.

In the bondage world there is a fetish that's challenging the way we see everyday things and the way we see women by making women into everyday things. Forniphilia, simply put, is turning women into furniture. It is objectifying women in the fullest sense, and it is completely consensual. An example would be binding a woman to the base of an office chair and tying her tightly to form the shape of the chair. Other uses include chandeliers, lamps, and tables. It is beauty formed into functional art. The person who coined the term forniphilia is Jeff Gord, with whom we did an interview recently. He talked to us about what he does and his fascination with turning women into objects.

The female body can be used in many different ways. What you can do with her depends solely on what her body is capable of. Some women can be twisted and contorted to fit many shapes, as with traditional bondage and suspension. After you get her into position you will need to secure her. The best option for this type of tight bondage is using straps instead of rope, because rope can cut off circulation and require you to disassemble your "object" before you are done using it.

Safety is the main concern here, and inexperienced folk should not be trying this. After she is tied into position you can start assembling and connecting her, depending on what she will become. On the artistic side of things, you have many options. Something that I have seen a lot of is the women being dressed in full body suits made from rubber, latex, or spandex. The color options here are numerous, and they can match or contrast with the color of the straps and materials used. Patterns can be created by the placement of the straps over the body and of course rubber body suits just look sexy anyway! Adding a ball gag can also create a nice effect, same with hoods and other bondage gear. Another feature option you could have is a "built in" sex toy.

The images of forniphilia invoke many feelings, beyond the aesthetic aspects; it's very captivating seeing these women completely tied up and unable to do anything but serve the purpose that is given to them. It gives a new meaning to "shut up and look pretty."
