MMhmm rmmmmph! Oh sorry, let me get this out of my mouth. Whew! Okay, this week I'm going to be talking about gags. We all know what they are and we all love them but beyond the ball gag, did you know there are seventeen other styles used in Bondage play? In our Kinktionary there is a thorough description of what they are and what they do. Be sure to check them out. You might be surprised at the wide array of styles that are out there. Some more popular styles include ring, tape, inflatable, and the classic "bandit" gag. In history the bandit gag has been the most popular type of gag seen outside of the BDSM world. It's a scarf or bandana placed over the mouth to muffle the sounds of the gagged individual. You can see these dating back as far as silent films of the early 1900's where villains would take a beautiful woman captive and tie her to train tracks with a train approaching in the distance. Then just before it's too late the hero of the film rescues her. For some, that was the ideal- being rescued from the torture of being bound and gagged with danger quickly approaching. For others though the danger is the ideal, and the villain is just the hero in disguise. Over time gags have evolved and so has the desire to use them.

According to the Kinktionary the most common use of the gag is to silence or muffle the wearer. A ball gag's purpose is more of humiliation rather than silence, but there are other types of gags that will do a better job at shutting a person up. "Stuff gags" are when a piece of cloth or fabric is stuffed into a person's mouth; this can also be paired with tying a handkerchief or bandana around the head to keep the cloth in place. Tape is another way to gag someone and prevent them from speaking, although special care must be taken into account as most adhesives can damage and injure the skin. While medical gags are used to aid in oral examination and prohibit the use of the orifice, in BDSM these types of gags are used in a medical setting for role-play. Medical gags do not prevent sound, but they do make it impossible for a person to speak. The wearer's mouth being held open can make the person vulnerable, which is an attractive quality when you are playing with humiliation and bondage.

Though gags are one of the most commonly used fetish toys, something you might not know is that they aren't always used just to inhibit speech. Some people want to block the use of the mouth as a sexual orifice, while others want to train the mouth. For example using a ball gag and wearing it regularly would get the wearer used to having something in their mouth as well as having their jaw open. This training is useful for oral sex and can help to make the wearer perform better.

Many adult stores sell and manufacture various gags that you can use whatever your purpose. If you take a look around our toy store you're likely to find one that fits. If you want to see more bondage action head on over to our VOD for some more gagging fun!

I love gags..some thng about them gives the slave being gagged just the perfect mindset for play and exploration and so many different types, I have a fondness for the bit gag and the o ring gag but the medical dams that are becoming more and more popular are really catching my eye.

I noticed that Luke's Lair had a VBlog on PornoTube on the subject recently..
