As it goes with most poly relationships, it's hard for many people to understand cuckolding. Either you aren't sure what it is and how it works, or you can't fathom ever being in that type of situation. For many people the "traditional" marriage of one man and one woman is what they feel is right for them. Others, however, are wired differently than that. Some people want more, and they want it in different ways. Most people know about swingers, couples who engage in sexual activities with other couples or singles, but in the poly lifestyle there are many different types of relationships and bonds that can be formed, and not everyone is after the same thing, even in the same couple.

Cuckolding takes on a different angle. The couple is usually married, and the wife will take on another man. What makes this different is the husband does not have any additional partners and often times ceases having sexual relations with his wife. He might even help her prepare for her other man and dates they go on, such as picking out her outfits and shaving his wife's legs. The husband is called a "cuck" and the wife is either a cuckoldress or a "hot wife," which is the more common name.

The other man is called a "bull" and is desired for his fit body and large penis. The purpose of being with the bull is to be with someone who is physically more equipped than the husband. Another term for the bull is Mandingo, which has actually stirred up some controversy. A Mandingo is a man of African-American descent who sleeps with the wife in the cuckold situation. There is a belief that men of this descent are more physically fit and they have larger penises than men of Caucasian descent, which you find more in the cuckolding lifestyle. Some feel that stereotyping this way is discriminatory, others, even those that are self proclaimed Mandingos, don't agree. Even though there are exceptions, these are the most recognized types of cuckolding relationships.

Less commonly found are "bullettes," which are the female version of bulls. They take the place of a man and might use a strap-on to have sex with the wife. This is still different than swinging because the husband isn't involved, and often times he is not even present at the time of the encounters.

What makes cuckolding so unique is the position it puts the husband in. Since he is no longer an active participant in his wife's sexual life, he takes on a passive role. He cannot fulfill her needs sexually and is figuratively castrated because he is required to remain faithful to his wife, even if she denies him sex. The husband enjoys this because he knows that his wife's sexual needs are being fulfilled, and it's more than he could ever do for her. He is actually satisfied with the humiliation that this creates and that is one of the main drives behind cuckolding a man- to humiliate him. He is not man enough to be everything for her and that can actually be sexually stimulating for him.

As with other Femdom situations, it's all about pleasing the woman, and in this case it is his wife whom he loves very much and would do anything for, including supporting her being with other people.

In some cases the husband might actually have a more active role in his wife's affairs. In addition to helping her get ready for her bulls, there are ways that he can be involved. He might be present while she is having sex and he might be involved with some of the activities. It all depends on what they decide. The husband might perform oral sex on the bull or he might orally serve his wife after the bull has sex with her. There are various scenarios in which the husband is involved and many where he is not. Most of the time though just the act of his wife being with another man is enough to take care of everyone's needs.

The sexualization of this practice comes from the theory that humans sexualize their greatest fears to overcome them, to make them easier to handle. With cuckolding it would be sexualizing cheating, and making it not only easier for the husband to handle, but something that he actually desires and might even encourage his wife to take part in. The reasons behind these fetishes are always up for debate though as there is no definite all-encompassing reason why we do what we do. We do what we like because it feels good, and sometimes doing something bad feels good. With cuckolding and other fetishes that seem to go against the grain we know that it can be something enjoyable. If you want to see cuckolding in action we have some videos in our VOD here.

This has always facinated me, I do not think though in all my travels and the people that I've met that I can say that I've come to know someone that is truly a in a cuckold relationship and when I mean a true cuckold relationship that they are commited to their significant other and that in that commitment they well do anything to please even if it is to submit to the lover as a slave. I have not seen or heard of this in the gay community and I wonder if there is some thing similar there which I would imagine that there would in some sense.

There is, but we never really call it that.

Th term itself sounds camp to me, an irony lost on most of us. But this kind of a relationship in a non-permanant sense does indeed exist in the gay community, especially with white-bread couples and ethnic men

It can be truly exciting, and the other man really usually automatically takes hold of the reins as if it were an inbred in his jeans.

I mean genes.
