Your name, Rubber Doll, is pretty self-explanatory but I have to ask why latex of all things? What made latex stand out to you?

I've always been drawn to alternative fashions, especially kinky fashions. For me, seeing people naked has never been as erotic as seeing people in kinky clothes. The clothing just enhances the experience and I guess that is why I have a fetish for it.

When I was younger, I was heavily influenced by the gothic scene and wore a lot of clothing in that style. It was through that scene that I started to visit fetish clubs where I was exposed to latex fashions. I instantly fell in love with how rubber clothing looked and started collecting outfits.

There are a lot of things that made latex stand out to me. At first, it was the way it fit so tightly, almost like a second layer of shiny skin. It almost allows you to assume a different form when you wear it. I really don't think there is any other clothing that looks quite as sexy. As I got more involved in it, other aspects of latex also started to appeal to me, like its restrictive qualities and its texture and smell.

Another thing that I really enjoy about latex is the fact that it isn't "off the rack" clothing that just anyone can pick up at the mall. Because it is a specialty item, most quality latex is handcrafted by designers who really appreciate the fetish. There are many very creative people making rubber clothing and I love working with them to put together outfits that are new and exciting.

So tell me, how did you get your start in the fetish world?

My first exposure to the fetish scene was through attending fetish parties at local nightclubs. I'm lucky to live in South Florida where there happens to be a very large and active fetish scene. I first started going to these events with my friends because I enjoyed the music and the clubs, but as time went on I started to get more and more interested in various aspects of fetishism, particularly latex fetishism. The things that drew me to the fetish world most were the pure sexual energy and the freedom to transform yourself into whatever happens to turn you on.

Over the years, I've continued to expand my fetish world and explore other aspects of kink. Through my involvement in fetish, I've travelled all over the world and met tons of brilliant, unusual and interesting people. It's a journey that I plan to continue and can't wait to see where it leads next.

If you had to choose a favorite scene what would that be and why?

Well, this probably comes as no surprise, but my favorite types of scenes usually revolve around latex. I am very fond of heavy rubber scenes, involving layering of rubber, hoods, gasmasks, vacbeds, and inflatable toys. It doesn't get much kinkier than that.

But, I also enjoy involving latex in various types of roleplay scenes. Two of my current favorites are medical and military scenes. Lately, I've been getting a lot of latex outfits that are done in uniform styles, either military or medical or a combination of the two. I love doing scenes in these outfits that involve roleplaying, such as military interrogation scenes and medical examinations. Medical scenes are especially fun since there are so many kinky toys to use on my "patients".

Would you please tell us a bit about your website RubberDoll.net?

I've always enjoyed taking pictures, even before I was into the fetish scene. Back in 1999, I decided to start a tiny free website on geocities to show off some pictures I had taken in my goth and fetish outfits. I really didn't expect that many people to be interested in it, but I started getting tons of requests for more and more pictures.

So, about seven years ago, I decided to take things to the next level and that was when "RubberDoll" was born. My boyfriend and I started taking more pictures, and began the process of learning how to build websites from scratch. It's been a long road, with lots of ups and downs, but I'm glad we always tried to learn how to do things ourselves. The site has grown from an amateur hobby site to something that I am proud to showcase now, with thousands of images and hours of video footage.

The site is a chronicle of my fetish lifestyle and features newly updated photos and videos each month. I pride myself on providing a variety of different things on my site. Sometimes I feature solo scenes, and other times the scenes feature me getting kinky with friends. Sometimes I go for a classy latex look, and other times I get down and dirty with some heavy rubber. I think that constantly changing things keeps the site fresh and interesting.

In addition to RubberDoll.Net, I also operate a site called ShinySluts.Com, which is included in the membership to RubberDoll.Net. ShinySluts is a site where I shoot other models getting kinky in latex. My boyfriend does all the photography and I do the production work. That site gives me the chance to work behind the scenes, which is something that I also really enjoy.

You offer one-on-ones with your clients, what was your most outrageous one-on-one session?

One of the great things about the internet age is that it's now possible to connect with other kinky people all around the globe. The one-on-one sessions that I do are most often accomplished either online or by using the telephone system on my site. This system has allowed me to explore different fetishes and fantasies with lots of interesting people.

I get people who are into all different sorts of things, including some that are truly bizarre. But, I try to be respectful and open-minded about them and not ridicule anyone's private fetishes. As long as it is safe, sane and consensual, I think people should be free to have their fetishes, and I am happy to provide them with an outlet to express them.

One thing that always amazes me though is that just when I think I've heard of every fetish imaginable, someone else comes along with something I've never dreamed of. I truly believe that no matter what it is, there is someone in the world that gets turned on by it.

What advice can you give to people who are new to BDSM and would like to explore?

The main advice I would give is to not be afraid to try the things that interest you. It seems to me that people in the fetish scene can sometimes impose too many limitations and restrictions. Some people get a little carried away with rules for what doms and subs can do and I think those kind of limitations prevent people from fully exploring their fantasies.

So, my advice would be to expose yourself to new things and to not be afraid to give something a try if it interests you. Of course, as with any BDSM play, you should be careful to research and learn about activities first, so you can be sure that you are doing things safely. The internet is a great place to find that sort of information. But after that, don't let anyone limit what you want to try.

You travel a good bit for photo shoots and conventions, what is your favorite place or con that you keep revisiting?

Traveling has been one of my favorite aspects of what I do. My career as a fetish model and performer has taken me all over the US and to countries around the world. I've had some unforgettable experiences and met some really unique people.

But, it's really impossible for me to pick a favorite. There are so many good aspects to different places. I particularly enjoy travelling to Europe. London has Torture Garden and the Skin Two Rubber Ball, which are both totally over the top, huge, and outrageous. And then there is Amsterdam, which is infamous for its "anything goes" parties that make performing there even more fun. I've only scratched the surface in Europe so far and look forward to seeing more places in the coming year.

There are also really great scenes outside of Europe. Montreal comes to mind, with its tight knit community of extremely talented and motivated people who are always amazing and inspiring to be with. I also really enjoy performing in Dallas, where the people are so friendly and welcoming. LA is a lot of fun too with so many fetish industry people being located there, it's always a great place to line up photo shoots. And I can't forget the conventions, like FetishCon, where you get a whole weekend to meet and mingle rather than just a crazy night in a club.

So, traveling to other scenes is one of the perks that I really enjoy, but I also need to mention the wonderful fetish scene right here at home in South Florida. With so many kinky people packing notorious events like the Fetish Factory parties, I almost don't need to leave home to have a completely kinky time.

Is there anything else you'd like to share with your fans?

Yes, I've got lots of new stuff planned for the coming months so be sure to keep checking my site for all the kink to come. I'm working on rolling out a line of DVDs that will be available online and in retail stores. I'm also doing some exciting work with the Swiss electro band, FAQ, including a stage show that combines fetish performance with live music. And of course, I'll still be supplying a steady stream of kinky content on my websites and pervy shows at fetish events around the globe.
