[edit] Definition
Corporal punishment is any punishment that is physical. When a sub makes a mistake, a dom will often use corporal punishment as a means to teach him or her a lesson. Corporal punishment is the effect to discipline’s cause. There are several ways to receive corporal punishment. Many of them are physical, and almost none of them mental. Corporal Punishment is used frequently with Bondage, but mainly is used in BDSM. With the reason for breaking the rule being the main focus in corporal punishment, pain is its secondary function. Herein lies its mental aspect. The degree of pain inflicted is directly related to how bad the violation was; therefore creating a direct mental correlation that forces the mind to remember its cause.
[edit] Safety
Much like BDSM, Bondage, other acts of physical action, the use of Corporal Punishment is something that should not be taken for granted. Consent must always be given, and boundaries must be set between dom and sub. If this is taken lightly, it could lead to serious injury and possibly death.
