Being fixated on shoes or other footwear in a sexual manner. This can involve a sexual attraction to the taste, touch, smell, feel, fabric of the shoe, especially leather shoes. It can involve sneakers, high heels, boots, any type of footwear imaginable. Heels and boots can cause a look that seems to elongate the leg, which is sexy to some.

Shoe or boot worship is when a person plays out this fetish and can involve acts of submission such as licking a shoe, performing other oral acts on a shoe, being tied to a shoe, being forced to wear heels (if you are a male), or even being forced to put a shoe or boot onto the Dominant partner.

Another take on this fetish is from the feeling of power and dominance that some people feel when they wear certain shoes, most particularly high heels and heeled boots. This phenomena is seen in both females and males regardless of sexual orientation.

This type of fetish is seen a lot in mainstream entertainment such as Sex and the City and There's Something About Mary.

Heeled shoes and heeled boots were introduced in the early 1600's and were worn by both men and women. As the poor could not afford these, they were seen as a symbol of wealth
