The act of sexual submission is giving up the physical and mental body over to a dominant master. This can be for a short period of time, or “session” as it is also known, or it can be a lifestyle choice. Those who choose to live their lives as submissives will be completely dependent on their masters, even for the most basic of needs. In return a submissive will grant his master’s every wish, no matter how degrading or humiliating it may be. In most relationships where a person chooses submission a contract will be drawn up, stating the rules and limitations of the relationship.

Submission can be very harmful if boundaries are not set and respected. A submissive should always have a safety word in place should things get out of hand.

Many ancient writings exist proving the practice of submission for sexual pleasure. In medieval times knights would often submit to their ladies to prove their love. Some of the submissive acts knights would endure included cross dressing and self-flagellation.
